American Solar Rail: Update

In 1999, Robert Green had proprietary software written to analyze a new form of a train’s operation that showed significant (30%) time savings for passengers. This performance had no competition.

When you are an entrepreneur and want to know if your project is worthy before you jump in, your first moves are to ask, 1) Can I protect the investment’s technology, and; 2) Ask for someone to finance the rail project, and; 3) Find the very best engineers and scientists to help make things easier.

On November 4th, 2020, I signed an engagement with Cooley LLP, known for their motto, ‘Power Innovation, Defend Success.’ Patents were filed in March 2021. On November 22, 2022, the USPTO awarded Green/ASR a patent for a RAIL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM. Recently, the patent was extended into the EU. I can now protect the investment’s technology.

On May 18th, 2021, I asked the US DOT’s Private Activity Bond Manager, the office that makes infrastructure loans, if they would finance American Solar Rail’s first rail project. They agreed the project was very innovative and interesting. America needed a high-speed rail solution. We concluded with an understanding, “IF I could build the railroad and train’s performance exactly as I said, they could loan 49% of the capital cost.” I now had a way to finance the rail projects.

On August 17, 2021, I signed a contract with the Transportation Technology Center, Inc., (TTCI, now MxV Rail) a subsidiary of the Association of American Railroads (aar.com) to assist ASR in the development of our technology. TTCI was also the operator of the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) testing and certifications lab for 4 decades. I now had the best rail engineers and scientists ‘onboard’.

On September 27, 2023, nine members of the FRA asked for a meeting with ASR’s experts. We were to discuss incorporating the technology and innovation of ASR into a new rail car that saved 30% of passenger’s rail travel time and finally enable affordable, CO2 free, American High-Speed Rail. The meeting ended with the FRA offering their services every week if necessary to get things moving.
